Uganda has taken a big step on the world stage by being elected co-chair of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action alongside the Netherlands.
The coalition pushes governments to align their financial policies with climate goals under the Paris Agreement. Uganda’s selection reflects its increased advocacy for climate adaptation funding for African countries, particularly in agriculture and energy resilience.
